The Opportunity: Own the Security and Infrastructure for a Global News Leader
Our client is embarking on a pivotal journey, bringing critical backend services in-house and launching a cutting-edge headless frontend. This transformation demands a robust, resilient, and secure infrastructure foundation. As a Senior Cloud Infrastructure & Security Engineer, you won't just be a contributor; you will **own** the end-to-end cloud infrastructure, delivery pipelines, and the entire security posture across their Core Web and Core Platform teams. Your Mission: What You'll Be Building & Securing
Design & Operate: Engineer and manage cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for new frontend and backend services, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
Fortify the Edge: Implement and manage Cloudflare solutions, including CDN, WAF, DNS, caching, and comprehensive edge security measures.
Champion Security: Define and rigorously implement the organization's security posture, covering IAM, secrets management, vulnerability scanning, robust logging, and proactive alerting systems.
Automate Excellence: Build and maintain secure, efficient CI/CD pipelines for both Core Web and Core Platform teams, streamlining deployment and ensuring integrity.
Infrastructure as Code Master: Manage and evolve infrastructure using Terraform, ensuring consistency, version control, and auditability.
AuthN Security Guardian: Provide critical security support for the new authentication service, protecting user access and data.
Monitor & Respond: Establish advanced monitoring systems and implement agile incident response practices to swiftly address and mitigate security threats.
Who You Are: What You'll Bring to the Table
Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or cloud infrastructure roles, with a strong emphasis on security responsibilities.
GCP Mastery: Deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform, including IAM, networking, GKE or Cloud Run, Cloud Armor, and Secret Manager.
Cloudflare Expertise: Proven experience with Cloudflare's full suite: CDN, WAF, DNS, custom rules, and bot/DDoS protection.
Security Posture Architect: Practical, hands-on experience in setting up and enforcing security best practices, including least-privilege IAM, secure secrets management, vulnerability scanning, and comprehensive logging/alerting strategies.
Terraform Pro: Proficient in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
CI/CD Savvy: Solid experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Cloud Build, or similar platforms).
Container & Kubernetes Expert: Strong command of containerization technologies and Kubernetes.
Language: Fluent English communication skills.
Location: Must be based in Latin America (LATAM).
