The Role: Senior Security Engineer
We are seeking a talented and highly motivated Senior Security Engineer to join our impactful, yet small and dedicated Security Team. In this pivotal role, you will not only strengthen our overall security posture but also take ownership of critical security initiatives company-wide, collaborating extensively across all teams and domains.
What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities
Lead and own end-to-end execution of multiple key security initiatives, ensuring they are strategically integrated, well-documented, and effectively advance Welltech’s security goals.
Collaborate directly with leadership to shape the team’s strategic roadmap, providing expert insights and foresight.
Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering their growth and development within the Security team.
Partner across engineering, IT, and product teams to embed security best practices throughout the entire development lifecycle and operational processes.
Drive continuous improvement in Security Engineering by regularly reviewing processes, implementing automation, and championing standardization to enhance team efficiency and organizational impact.
Lead our PCI-DSS Compliance initiative, working closely with all relevant stakeholders to ensure adherence and maintain certification.
Architect, implement, and maintain robust security controls and measures across Welltech’s diverse systems, networks, and critical cloud environments (AWS/GCP).
Play a pivotal role in threat modeling, risk assessments, and incident response, supporting a proactive and resilient security posture.
Develop and iterate on internal security policies, standards, and tools to meet evolving company-wide security objectives.
Lead and foster a strong security culture throughout the organization by driving effective security awareness efforts.
Stay ahead of the curve by continuously evaluating emerging threats, cutting-edge technologies, and industry best practices, driving improvements to Welltech’s overall security maturity.
What You'll Bring: Expertise & Skills 5+ years of hands-on security engineering experience with a proven track record in implementing and managing security solutions. Technical Prowess:
Solid understanding of fundamental security principles, common vulnerabilities, and prevalent attack techniques.
Proficiency with Python, especially for scripting and developing serverless functions (e.g., AWS Lambda).
Experience managing and securing Kubernetes in production environments.
Familiarity with CI/CD tooling and practical experience implementing secure deployment practices.
Very good knowledge of major cloud platforms – specifically AWS or Google Cloud.
Big Plus: Solid experience with PCI-DSS compliance and implementation.
Nice to Have: Experience with application security, Data Loss Prevention (DLP) platforms, and observability tools.
A truly collaborative, proactive mindset with an insatiable passion for continuous improvement.
Ability to clearly communicate complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders across the organization.
Strong organizational skills to effectively prioritize and manage multiple concurrent tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
