The Opportunity: Security Engineer
This is a unique opportunity to influence security best practices within a forward-thinking organization. Your expertise in people, systems, and security will be crucial in facilitating smooth development and implementation processes. We value direct feedback, honest communication, and innovative solutions over conventional approaches.

Your Mission:
Provide expert security guidance to Infra Engineering and IT teams, ensuring practicality and a risk-based approach in the following key areas:
Automation of security controls and hardening of developer and IaC processes (build, test, release).
Supply chain security within the build process, including related metrics, monitoring, and audits.
Network, VM & container image, and system hardening.
Addressing cloud issues and misconfigurations.
Endpoint Security, Infrastructure Identity and Access Management, SIEM, Threat intelligence, and resolving common misconfigurations (DNS, email, networking, etc.).

Organize and execute penetration tests on our infrastructure, collaborating with external security experts.
Select and implement tools and methodologies to enhance the company's security posture (with a strong preference for FOSS tooling).
Develop and promote the adoption of company-wide security standards and guidelines, implementing automation to facilitate their deployment.
Mentor team members on security, IT, and infrastructure engineering matters.

What You'll Bring:
A focus on outcomes and results-driven delivery.
The ability to partner effectively with multiple teams to address issues, clarify requirements, and influence stakeholders.
Familiarity with a Linux-based tech stack (managed VMs, SSH, VPNs, firewalls).
Experience with Kubernetes (including managed), Terraform, Ansible, Github, Gitlab, ArgoCD, and image registries.
Experience with various cloud platforms, including Google Cloud and non-managed providers.
Bonus points for understanding blockchain technology and associated tooling (wallets, keys, RPC nodes, indexers, etc.).
