The Opportunity: Lead Security Engineering in a Generative AI Frontie
We are seeking a visionary and technically profound Head of Security Engineering to architect, lead, and scale Suno’s holistic security strategy. This pivotal role offers the unique challenge and reward of securing cutting-edge generative AI systems, complex cloud infrastructure, consumer-facing applications, and our internal environments.
As the Head of Security Engineering, you will be the ultimate owner of our security engineering roadmap. From defining robust application security and resilient cloud architectures across platforms like AWS and GCP, to pioneering detection & response capabilities, evolving IAM governance, and embedding secure development lifecycle (SDLC) practices, your impact will be comprehensive and critical. This is a hands-on leadership role demanding exceptional technical depth, strategic foresight, sound judgment, and the drive to elevate security maturity within a fast-paced, AI-first organization.

What You'll Lead and Accomplish
Architect and implement cutting-edge secure cloud environments and infrastructure across our diverse cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP).
Inspire, empower, and lead high-performing teams to innovate and execute robust security programs and strategies across Cloud Security, Identity and Access Management (IAM), Security Operations, and Product Security domains.
Provide expert technical leadership for the entire lifecycle of security products, from initial conception and design through operational deployment, ensuring adherence to the highest quality and security standards.
Stay at the forefront of the cybersecurity landscape, continuously evaluating emerging security technologies, understanding advances in agentic AI, and identifying their strategic applications to our consumer products.
Champion a "security-by-design" culture, collaborating intimately with Engineering, IT, Legal, and Product teams to embed security as a foundational consideration in every decision.
Cultivate an engineering team renowned for its impact, fostering an environment of collaboration, trust, ownership, and open communication.
Build and nurture a high-performance team through clear performance expectations, continuous feedback, and by setting an uncompromising bar for engineering excellence and astute decision-making.
What You'll Bring to Suno
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a closely related technical field.
10+ years of progressive leadership experience in security engineering and operations departments.
5+ years of hands-on experience securing complex AWS environments.
A proven track record of successfully building, scaling, and leading mission-critical security teams.
Demonstrated expertise in navigating complex global regulatory environments and securing large-scale consumer ecosystems.
Exceptional technical acumen and a genuine willingness to dive deep into intricate technical details.
Extensive experience in developing, managing, and evaluating top-tier security talent.
Proven ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with regulatory bodies, executive leadership, and cross-functional partner teams.
Deep domain expertise in at least two or more specialized security areas, such as Product Security, Cloud Security, Security Operations, Enterprise Identity and Access Management (EIAM), or Cryptography.
