Open Position: Penetration Tester
As a Penetration Tester at Protegrity, you will play a vital role in continuously improving our security posture and ensuring the reliability and stability of our business environment. Reporting to the Director of Information Security, you'll collaborate with teams across the company to identify, assess, and mitigate vulnerabilities.
What You'll Do:
Conduct penetration tests on applications, network devices, and cloud infrastructures (AWS, Azure, on-premises).
Design and execute simulated social engineering attacks to assess user awareness.
Dive deep into research and experimentation with various attack vectors and techniques.
Develop and refine methodologies for penetration testing to stay ahead of emerging threats.
Perform code reviews to identify security vulnerabilities and provide remediation guidance.
Reverse engineer malware or spam to understand attack patterns and improve defenses.
Document security and compliance issues with clear and concise reporting.
Automate common testing techniques to enhance efficiency and scalability.
Compose comprehensive technical and executive reports to communicate findings effectively.
Present findings to customers, technical staff, and executive leadership, tailoring your message to the audience.
Validate the effectiveness of security improvements through rigorous retesting.
What You'll Bring:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, including 4+ years focused on application penetration testing.
Strong understanding of information security standards, rules, and regulations related to data confidentiality.
Proven experience performing black box, white box, and grey box penetration testing against various targets (applications, APIs, Web, Mobile, Modern Infrastructure).
Experience researching and understanding real-world threat actor tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).
Development experience with scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Java.
Hands-on experience with penetration and malicious user testing in cloud environments (AWS, Azure) and on-premises systems.
Solid knowledge of the software development lifecycle (SSDLC), CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies.
Deep understanding of common software security issues and remediation techniques (OWASP Top 10, SANS 25, Mitre ATT&CK, etc.).
Experience analyzing vulnerabilities, delivering clear and coherent written reports, and providing mitigation recommendations.
Excellent knowledge of Windows/Linux systems administration and associated vulnerabilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Preferred: Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) or CompTIA PenTest+ Certification.
