Manager, Security Operations

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Manager of Security Operations to lead our exceptionally talented Security Engineering team. Reporting directly to the Director of Security, you will be a pivotal leader in defining and executing Vanta’s detection and response strategy, ensuring our systems remain resilient against emerging threats.

What You'll Drive at Vanta:

Lead & Inspire: Cultivate and grow a high-performing team of security operations analysts, fostering an AI-first, human-centric, and trust-based approach to security.
Strategic Vision: Define and execute the comprehensive strategy for Vanta’s security operations, empowering your team to implement robust protocols and proactively counter threats.
AI-Powered Security: Champion the adoption and integration of AI to enhance team efficiency, automate processes, and mature our overall security program.
Incident Command: Lead and manage the full lifecycle of incident response, from swift detection and effective remediation to proactive prevention.
Process Innovation: Identify, develop, and implement cutting-edge processes to continuously evolve and strengthen our security operations program.
Threat Intelligence: Proactively identify new technologies and emerging threats, devising and implementing technology-driven strategies to mitigate risks.

We're Looking for a Leader Who Can:

Demonstrate Strong Leadership: Possess proven leadership experience in security, with the ability to lead and motivate a global team based on transparency and trust.
Master Security Operations: Bring deep security operations expertise, particularly in implementing robust security controls within dynamic SaaS and cloud environments.
Architect Detection Strategies: Have extensive experience crafting sophisticated detection and observability strategies for critical security events.
Navigate Compliance: Be highly familiar with industry regulations and standards (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST 800-53) and adept at ensuring continuous compliance.
Leverage AI: Possess hands-on experience in leveraging Artificial Intelligence to significantly improve security processes and outcomes.
Command Incidents: Exhibit strong incident response skills, including experience acting as an incident commander during significant security incidents.
Strategic Risk Management: Adeptly assess and analyze security risks comprehensively, weighing both business and technical impacts, and prioritize remediation strategies aligned with organizational goals.
Build Trust: Excel at building strong, collaborative partnerships with internal teams, driving collective progress towards shared security objectives.
Embrace Innovation: Demonstrate a curious, open mindset towards using AI to amplify skills, strengthen work, and responsibly apply AI for improved efficiency and impact.
