Your Mission: Elevate Cloud Security with AI
As an individual contributor reporting to the Director, Information Security, you will be a key innovator within our Cloud Security team. You will leverage your deep expertise in cloud security best practices and payment systems to proactively identify, remediate, and fortify our cloud infrastructure against vulnerabilities. Your work will directly enhance our overall Cloud Security posture, enabling our engineering teams to develop and deploy code with confidence and security by design.
What You'll Do: Drive innovation by designing and delivering AI-powered security solutions to mitigate critical infrastructure vulnerabilities. What You'll Bring: 6+ years of dedicated cloud security experience, including hands-on expertise in fixing code using Terraform, Python, or Java. Architect and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) compliance standards using Terraform, Python, and/or OPA.
Lead the charge on IaC security scans, partnering closely with engineering teams to fix and secure unsafe code.
Engage cross-functional technology teams to review, document, and clearly communicate security risks and remediation strategies.
Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship, elevating the skills and knowledge of other security engineers.
Ensure robust adherence to all relevant security regulations and industry standards across our cloud environment.
Actively interact with the broader security community, staying at the forefront of emerging threats, trends, and technologies.
Deep architectural understanding of AWS security, specifically encompassing Lambda security architecture and AWS Control Tower.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering is highly preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
A strong professional growth mindset, with a willingness to learn, adapt, experiment, and grow continuously.
Strong understanding and proactive adoption of AI technologies to enhance security practices.
A background in DevSecOps and Network Engineering is highly preferred.
Exceptional customer service and people skills, fostering strong collaborative relationships across all teams.

This is a hybrid role based in one of our vibrant offices: Austin, Chicago, DC, or NYC. In-office attendance is required on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Please note that in-office requirements may evolve based on project needs and changes to Upside’s overall policy.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $165,000 - $185,000 + equity + comprehensive benefits. Your final starting compensation will be determined by job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and current market conditions. Our recruiter can provide more specific salary details during the hiring process.
