Job Description

Cybersecurity Engineer: Safeguard the Future of Autonomous Defense

Location: Remote / Hybrid

At Swarmer, we're revolutionizing defense by building cutting-edge software that empowers drones to operate autonomously in large, coordinated teams, eliminating the need for human pilots. Our technology isn't just theoretical; it's battle-tested and proven on the front lines in Ukraine, the most demanding proving ground for drone warfare globally.

In March 2026, we made history as the first Ukrainian defense startup to go public on NASDAQ, following a landmark $15M Series A — the largest investment in a Ukrainian defense tech company since the war began. This milestone underscores our impact and potential.

Working with Swarmer means operating at the critical intersection of engineering rigor and frontline reality. You'll tackle complex problems in high-stakes environments, directly contributing to the defense capabilities of democratic nations. If you are driven by building resilient systems that truly matter and seeing the tangible impact of your work, you will find profound purpose here.

Your Mission: Secure Swarmer's Foundation
We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Cybersecurity Engineer to fortify our corporate IT infrastructure. This hands-on engineering role is pivotal to our operational integrity, focusing on the security of our laptops, software, SaaS applications, and user accounts. You will be an integral part of our IT team, collaborating closely with our DevOps engineers on shared security responsibilities.

Your expertise in MDM, IAM, and networking will be essential as you harden endpoints (laptops, BYOD), SaaS platforms, LANs, and cloud environments. You'll leverage cutting-edge MDM and IdP solutions to uphold and elevate our rigorous security standards, all guided by established industry frameworks and security best practices.

What You'll Achieve: Key Responsibilities

Endpoint & Server Hardening: Maintain robust hardening and configuration baselines for all endpoints and servers, including encryption, security policies, and benchmark adherence.
Protection & Compliance: Deploy and manage endpoint and server protection across our entire fleet (EDR/NGAV, antivirus, device management), ensuring stringent security policy enforcement and compliance configuration.
Network Security: Administer critical network security controls (firewalls, VPN, network segmentation, access controls) and proactively monitor traffic for suspicious activities.
Secure-by-Design: Review infrastructure projects and architectural designs from a security perspective to guarantee secure-by-default configurations.
Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability scans across endpoints, servers, and cloud environments, prioritizing remediation based on risk and meticulously tracking progress.
Identity & Access Excellence: Enforce identity and access best practices (role-based access, least privilege, MFA, privileged access management) and conduct periodic access reviews.
Threat Monitoring: Continuously monitor and analyze security events and logs to detect anomalies and potential threats with precision.
Incident Response: Lead detection, investigation, containment, and remediation efforts for security incidents, thoroughly documenting timelines, root causes, and lessons learned.
Cloud & SaaS Security: Monitor cloud and SaaS security posture, remediate misconfigurations, and review third-party integrations and access scopes.
Documentation & Audits: Implement and document comprehensive technical security controls (runbooks, hardening guides) and provide essential support for internal and external audits.

Who You Are: Your Expertise

Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure or cybersecurity engineering, with a clear security specialization.
System Hardening: Proven hands-on experience administering and hardening Linux, Windows, and macOS systems using MDM solutions.
Endpoint Protection: Practical experience with endpoint protection and device management platforms (EDR/NGAV, MDM, antivirus).
Networking Prowess: Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN) and practical experience with firewalls and network security controls.
IAM Expertise: Hands-on experience with identity and access management/SSO platforms, always prioritizing a security-first approach.
Security Operations: Experience with vulnerability management tools and SIEM/SOC monitoring and incident-response workflows.
Threat Landscape: Strong understanding of common attack types and corresponding detection/prevention methods.
Security Frameworks: Practical familiarity with recognized security frameworks and standards.
Analytical & Pragmatic: An analytical mindset with the ability to assess risk and prioritize solutions pragmatically.
Communication: Clear communicator capable of explaining complex technical issues to non-technical colleagues effectively.
Language: English proficiency (essential for documentation, vendors, and external partners).

Advantageous Skills: Boost Your Impact

Ability to automate security and infrastructure tasks with scripting (Python, Bash, or PowerShell).
Working knowledge of cloud security controls.
Relevant security certifications.
Experience in enterprise or critical-infrastructure environments.

Why Swarmer? The Impact & The Rewards

Meaningful Growth: Accelerate your professional growth by working with cutting-edge defense technologies and gaining exposure to international security best practices.
