Senior Manager, Physical Security

Rowan Digital Infrastructure is at the forefront of redefining how data centers are delivered—faster, smarter, and at an unprecedented scale. We don't just build infrastructure; we craft tailored, high-performance digital environments for hyperscale customers, with a relentless focus on sustainability, efficiency, and flexibility. Backed by Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners, our experienced, end-to-end team delivers custom solutions across a rapidly expanding portfolio of strategic sites nationwide.

Join us in enabling the next generation of digital infrastructure and building a more sustainable future. Ready to secure the technologies that power the world?

The Opportunity: Lead Physical Security for Critical Infrastructure

As our Senior Manager of Physical Security, you will be the owner and architect of our physical security posture across all active data center campuses. This is a critical leadership role where you will design, govern, implement, and lead the day-to-day operations of an advanced physical security ecosystem that protects our mission-critical facilities 24/7.

You will command the full spectrum of security technologies—from access control and video surveillance to intrusion detection and perimeter defenses—and orchestrate the performance of our guard force operations. This role demands both strategic vision for system architecture and meticulous operational execution, establishing standards and driving continuous improvement across our growing portfolio.

Compensation: $150-$175K (Offers Bonus)
Location: Denver, CO (3-day hybrid in-office role) strongly preferred (remote may be considered for exceptional candidates)
Travel: Approximately 50% for customer meetings, company gatherings, and project sites.

What You'll Be Doing:

Strategic Security Architecture & Design

Lead the end-to-end physical security system design for new and existing hyperscale data center campuses.
Develop robust campus-level security architecture standards for:

Access Control Systems (ACS): Designing sophisticated credentialing and access management.
Video Management Systems (VMS): Implementing advanced surveillance and analytics.
Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS): Deploying cutting-edge detection technologies.
Perimeter Detection & Fencing: Establishing multi-layered external defenses.
Vehicle Barriers & Anti-Ram Systems: Engineering robust vehicle access control.
Security Command Center Integration: Creating centralized, intelligent monitoring and response hubs.

Collaborate closely with Engineering, Construction, IT, and Development teams throughout the design and commissioning phases.
Approve critical documentation including shop drawings, submittals, and integration designs from vendors and contractors.
Standardize hardware platforms and integration approaches for consistency and efficiency across all campuses.

24/7 Operational Excellence & Oversight

Own the day-to-day performance, reliability, and security of all physical security systems across active campuses.
Establish and monitor stringent SLAs and KPIs for system uptime, incident response times, and overall system reliability.
Lead swift and effective incident response for all physical security events, ensuring minimal disruption.
Oversee comprehensive badge access governance, permissions, and audit controls to maintain strict access integrity.
Ensure accurate logging, secure retention, and robust evidentiary chain-of-custody procedures for all security data.
Conduct recurring system audits and proactive vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate risks.
Maintain meticulous system documentation, diagrams, and configuration records.

Contractor & Guard Force Management

Manage and optimize relationships with physical security contractors and integrators, ensuring peak performance.
Provide comprehensive oversight for guard force vendors, including:

Strategic staffing models and resource deployment.
Detailed post orders and operational protocols.
Robust training requirements and continuous development.
Performance reviews and accountability metrics.
Clear escalation procedures for critical events.

Conduct regular quarterly business reviews with all vendors to assess performance and foster strong partnerships.
Enforce strict compliance with all contractual and regulatory obligations.
Validate contractor work quality and commissioning standards to ensure flawless system deployment.

Compliance & Governance Leadership

Ensure unwavering compliance with:

Stringent customer security requirements.
Industry-leading standards (SOC, ISO).
All applicable local, state, and federal regulations.

Develop and maintain comprehensive physical security policies, standards, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Support audit preparation and drive the closure of any corrective actions identified.
Maintain and actively manage the security risk register and associated mitigation plans.

Risk Management & Continuous Improvement

Conduct thorough campus-level threat and vulnerability assessments.
Develop and implement proactive mitigation strategies aligned with enterprise risk tolerance.
Lead lessons-learned reviews following any incidents to drive systemic improvements.
Champion continuous improvement initiatives focused on enhancing detection, deterrence, and response effectiveness.
Benchmark Rowan's security posture against industry best practices to maintain a leading edge.

What You'll Bring to the Table:

Required Qualifications

Demonstrated expertise in designing and deploying enterprise-scale access control and video systems.
Proven experience managing multi-site or campus-scale security operations.
Extensive contractor and vendor management experience.
Strong understanding of layered security architecture and Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles.
Ability to lead complex incident response and crisis coordination efforts.
Strong technical fluency with networked security systems.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in hyperscale data center environments.
Possession of PSP, CPP, or similar security certifications.
Experience integrating physical security systems with IT and Operational Technology (OT) cybersecurity controls.
