Job Description

• Develop and scale services and infrastructure critical to ensure the privacy of vehicle owners and operators.
• Work on systems according to privacy best practices and help implement Rivian and VW Group Technology’s privacy roadmap and strategy.
• Work closely with security engineers across product security and engineering partners from across the software organization to ensure Rivian and VW Group user’s privacy is protected.
• Build, support, and maintain in-house privacy-critical services.
• Implement privacy standards and demonstrate implementation of privacy best practices.
• Responsible for building new and ongoing privacy services and applications.
• Mitigate vulnerabilities found or reported by internal and external parties by aligning with company’s goals and objectives.
• Implement privacy/personal data protections to comply with regulations and industry standards.

Minimum Requirements

• Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Privacy Engineering, or a closely related field.
• 2 years of experience in any occupation involving privacy engineering.
• Experience with Python and/or Go to develop production-quality software.
• Experience using modern cryptography, privacy, and security in software development.
• Experience working on projects from planning through completion.
• Experience using privacy-enhancing technologies, techniques, and data classification.
• Experience conducting threat modeling and privacy risk assessments using STRIDE, LINDDUN, and/or TARA methodologies.
• Experience working with automotive cybersecurity and data privacy standards ISO 21434, GDPR, and CCPA/CPRA.
• Experience utilizing automotive hardware, embedded systems, and privacy-focused security firmware.
