About the Role
OpenAI is seeking an experienced and dynamic Security Operations Manager to take the helm of our corporate and physical security operations in Paris. This pivotal role will provide primary security leadership for our Paris hub, extend crucial support to Brussels, and strategically coordinate regional security efforts for our growing presence in Munich, Zurich, and other European cities as business activity, events, travel, or executive visits dictate. You will be a vital and trusted security partner, fostering strong relationships with local teams, regional stakeholders, vendors, building management, and our global Corporate Security peers.

As our Security Operations Manager, you will:
Coordinate and ensure comprehensive regional security coverage for Munich, Zurich, and other European cities, adapting to evolving business needs, high-profile events, travel security, and executive visits.
Implement and manage a suite of practical security controls, encompassing access management, streamlined visitor workflows, meticulous vendor coordination, swift incident response, robust emergency readiness protocols, and thorough site security documentation.
Partner seamlessly with cross-functional teams including Workplace, building management, Legal, People/HR, EHS/Resilience, GSOC, Executive Operations, and local leadership to maintain effective, locally appropriate, and employee-centric security solutions.
Provide expert security support for event and executive visit planning, establishing clear escalation paths, ensuring stakeholder alignment, and implementing proportionate risk mitigation strategies.
Drive continuous improvement in vendor performance, elevate operational standards, enhance reporting mechanisms, and ensure diligent tracking and remediation of security issues.
You might thrive in this role if you possess:
Demonstrated expertise in leading physical security operations within a dynamic, modern office environment, ideally within technology, professional services, financial services, or another high-confidentiality setting.
Proven experience in managing security vendors or internal guard force operations, including the development of post orders, setting coverage expectations, performance management, establishing incident standards, and ensuring service quality.
Strong incident management capabilities, encompassing effective response, meticulous documentation, clear escalation paths, insightful after-action learning, and precise stakeholder communications.
Hands-on operational knowledge of access management systems, visitor management processes, reception security protocols, vendor oversight, contractor access controls, site emergency readiness planning, and employee-facing security operations.
A practical and nuanced understanding of corporate security operations within Paris or France, with the ability to effectively partner with Legal, People/HR, Workplace, and EHS/Resilience on applicable workplace, privacy, security, and safety considerations.
The flexibility and capability to operate across Paris and Brussels, with a commitment to providing regional support for Munich, Zurich, and other European cities as required.
Professional/Business English proficiency is required. French-language proficiency is strongly preferred and will be highly beneficial for engaging with local vendors, building management, and key stakeholders.
Exceptional interpersonal skills, sound judgment, unwavering discretion, and the ability to handle sensitive issues with the utmost confidentiality.
This role is based in Paris, France. Regional travel may be required to Brussels, Munich, Zurich, and other European locations for business activities or events.
