About the Role
Are you ready to build, operate, and secure the AI technologies that will reshape the future? As a Security Engineer specializing in Detection & Response, you'll work alongside OpenAI's world-class engineers and researchers, playing a critical role in safeguarding our innovative advancements.
This role offers a unique blend of strategic thinking and hands-on execution, with a focus on strengthening our Detection & Response capabilities while contributing your expertise across a range of security domains. This role is based in London, UK. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees.
What You'll Do
Innovate on and maintain our Detection and Response infrastructure, ensuring its scalability and effectiveness.
Design and build tools to streamline the lifecycle of detection rules, enabling rapid deployment and iteration.
Develop, measure, and tune detection rules based on threat intelligence and real-world observations to ensure proactive security operations.
Automate manual response processes to minimize the impact of security incidents and improve efficiency.
Enhance the visibility and control of OpenAI's endpoint fleet (macOS, Windows), implementing robust security measures.
Drive improvements across critical security areas, including identity access and management (IAM), device management, productivity software, and our use of public cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Microsoft Azure).
What You'll Bring
Experience in Security or a Security-adjacent field, demonstrating a solid understanding of security principles and practices.
Proficiency with Microsoft Azure and/or other leading cloud infrastructure platforms, enabling you to effectively secure cloud-based environments.
Deep knowledge of modern adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), allowing you to anticipate and mitigate emerging threats.
Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell, enabling you to automate tasks and build custom security tools.
Exceptional ability to collaborate with colleagues, independently manage and execute projects, and prioritize efforts to maximize risk reduction.
