Secure the Future of Productivity at Notion
Imagine building security into the very foundation of a platform used by millions – from individuals to enterprises like Toyota, Figma, and OpenAI. At Notion, we're not just building software; we're building the future of how people work and collaborate. And we need talented cybersecurity professionals like you to help us protect it.
We're looking for an experienced Infrastructure Security Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in securing our growing cloud infrastructure. If you're passionate about building secure-by-default systems, automating security best practices, and protecting user data, this is the role for you.
Note: In-person collaboration is important to us. We require all team members to work from our offices on Mondays and Thursdays, our designated Anchor Days. Certain teams or positions may require additional in-office workdays.
What You'll Be Doing:
Fortify our Cloud Infrastructure: Proactively identify and mitigate security risks across our AWS accounts and cloud infrastructure.
Build Secure Foundations: Design and implement robust frameworks for secrets management, authentication, and authorization.
Implement Identity & Access Management (IAM): Architect and deploy scalable and secure IAM solutions.
Champion Security Best Practices: Educate and guide cross-functional teams on security and privacy principles.
Incident Response: Participate in and lead mitigation efforts during security incidents.
Mentor & Scale: Help scale the engineering organization by mentoring engineers on secure software design and architecture.
What You'll Bring to the Table:
Security Architecture Expertise: 5+ years of experience designing and maintaining systems to secure cloud architectures, with a focus on secrets management and Identity and Access Management solutions.
Backend/Infrastructure Development Prowess: 5+ years of experience writing production-grade code. You're comfortable contributing to our codebase and architecture to enhance secure systems design.
Production Experience: Proven ability to debug and troubleshoot systems in a live production environment, continuously improving components with minimal disruption.
Business Acumen: A pragmatic approach to security, balancing threat risks with business needs and prioritizing projects based on impact.
Technology Agnostic: You understand the tradeoffs of different technologies and programming languages and are willing to learn new ones.
Exceptional Communication: You can clearly and concisely communicate complex technical concepts, whether in writing or in real-time discussions.
Team Player Mentality: You thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy working cross-functionally to achieve shared goals.
Bonus Points:
Deep understanding of AWS security practices, IAM, and zero trust architectures.
Experience in Data Security or Privacy Engineering.
Active involvement in local or regional security user groups or conferences.
We believe in building a diverse and inclusive workplace. If you're excited about this role but don't meet every single qualification, we encourage you to apply anyway. If you're a builder at heart, share our company values, and are passionate about making software toolmaking ubiquitous, we want to hear from you.
