What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities

Forge Our Front Lines: Security Operations & Incident Response

Direct and optimize our 24/7 Security Operations Center (SOC), ensuring high-fidelity monitoring and lightning-fast threat response across all corporate environments.
Serve as the primary Incident Commander during security breaches, meticulously maintaining and executing the Incident Response (IR) plan.
Orchestrate regular tabletop exercises to rigorously validate team readiness and continuously build operational capabilities.
Oversee proactive threat hunting initiatives and champion the development of custom detection logic for our SIEM and EDR platforms.
Provide expert guidance, oversight, and strategic direction to our SOC contractor team and existing team leads on daily operations and long-term goals.

Secure Our Ecosystem: Corporate & Enterprise IT Security

Own the comprehensive enterprise security function, ensuring all corporate assets, cloud services, and procured products are securely configured, continuously monitored, and compliant with internal policies.
Collaborate closely with IT to enforce stringent secure configurations across critical platforms including Microsoft Teams, email infrastructure, diverse cloud services, and internal product deployments.
Partner with IT teams on critical security initiatives such as vulnerability remediation, robust patch management, Identity and Access Management (IAM), advanced endpoint security, and resilient network security architecture.

Pioneer the Future: AI-Driven Security & Continuous Improvement

Execute a multi-year security roadmap strategically aligned with NETGEAR's business goals, embedding AI integration as a core pillar of innovation.
Champion the leveraging of AI technologies and advanced analytics to proactively identify sophisticated threat patterns, predict emerging risks, and significantly accelerate incident response times.
Drive the adoption of automated security tooling to dramatically improve detection accuracy and drastically reduce Mean Time To Respond (MTTR).

Navigate the Landscape: Risk Management & Compliance

Partner strategically with GRC teams to ensure rigorous compliance with industry-leading frameworks including SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, and HIPAA.
Assist in leading comprehensive security assessments, penetration tests, and meticulous third-party risk reviews.
Manage the security budget, including strategic vendor selection and ongoing tool rationalization to maximize efficiency and impact.
Maintain and regularly test business continuity and disaster recovery plans specifically for security operations.

Inspire & Influence: Leadership & Strategic Partnership

Mentor and develop security team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence and supporting their career advancement.
Communicate complex security risks, program health, and strategic recommendations clearly and concisely to executive leadership.
Serve as the organization's definitive subject matter expert for all cybersecurity threats and critical information security matters.
Partner with Legal, IT, and senior leadership to seamlessly align security priorities with overarching organizational goals and objectives.

What You'll Bring: Qualifications

Required

8+ years of impactful cybersecurity or IT security experience, with at least 3-4 years in a dedicated management or lead role.
A proven track record of successfully managing complex SOC operations and leading high-stakes incident response efforts.
Strong working knowledge of core security operations principles: threat detection, incident management, vulnerability management, and compliance frameworks.
Hands-on expertise in securing dynamic cloud-native environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Deep knowledge and practical experience with SIEM/SOAR platforms such as Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, or Palo Alto XSOAR.
Expertise in EDR/XDR technologies including CrowdStrike or SentinelOne.
Strong understanding of Zero Trust Architecture, SASE, and modern IAM protocols (SAML, OIDC).
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to lead through influence across IT, Legal, and business teams.
Demonstrated experience managing contractor teams and third-party vendor relationships within a security context.

Preferred

Hands-on experience with vulnerability management tools such as Tenable, Qualys, or Wiz.
Familiarity with AI-driven security analytics and automation tooling for advanced threat detection and response.
Background in program management and cross-functional security governance initiatives.
Preferred certifications: CISSP, CISM, CCSP, CISA, or SANS/GIAC (GCIH, GCFA).
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
