Job Description

Offensive Security Engineer - Fluidstack

Offensive Security Enginee

At Fluidstack, we're building the future of AI. Our mission is to accelerate the deployment of civilization-scale compute infrastructure, empowering humanity with powerful, aligned AI that expands freedom, not shrinks it. We believe whoever deploys frontier compute fastest will shape this future. This isn't just about technology; it's about safeguarding human choice and building the foundational infrastructure for the next era.

We are singularly focused on delivering 10 to 100s of GWs of compute faster than anyone else, rethinking every layer of the stack. From acquiring power and designing data centers to operating them with our world-class hardware and software teams, speed and scale are our key differentiators. If you're passionate about making a tangible impact on the future of AI, we invite you to join us.

Our Core Principles: How We Operate
Our culture is built for pioneers and problem-solvers who thrive on impact:

Be a Barrel: Embrace full autonomy. Own initiatives end-to-end, proactively take on scope, and operate without needing permission outside your core role.
Insane Urgency: We push relentlessly to drive everything forward as fast as humanly possible.
Reason from First Principles: Challenge every assumption. We demand zero-analogy thinking, reject egos, and ensure the best idea always wins.
Love of the Game: The frontier of AI is the most fascinating problem of our time. We commit to long hours and high intensity to advance this frontier.
Build Something That Actually Matters: If you're dedicating your time, dedicate it to something that genuinely impacts the world.

The Security Team: Protecting the Frontier of AI
Join a team that isn't just patching systems, but architecting the very foundation of security for the most valuable assets in technology. Our challenges are unprecedented:

Securing the Crown Jewels of AI: The model weights training on our infrastructure are among the most valuable and targeted artifacts in existence. A breach here isn't merely a leak; it's the frontier walking out the door. You'll be protecting the intellectual property that defines the next generation of human capability.

Building From Scratch, Bare Metal to Boardroom: Most security leaders inherit legacy systems. Here, you have the rare opportunity to architect an entire security program from the ground up, owning its evolution end-to-end as we scale across continents.

Your Threat Surface is Measured in Gigawatts: We are responsible for the physical and logical security of the infrastructure powering the most consequential technology in human history. The scale and criticality of this work make everything else feel small.

Your Mission: Forge Our Offensive Security Program
As an Offensive Security Engineer, you will be instrumental in building and scaling Fluidstack's offensive security capabilities. You'll operate at the bleeding edge, challenging our defenses and innovating new ways to secure our critical infrastructure.

Pioneer Fluidstack's offensive security program, establishing its methodology, tooling, and engagement cadence from inception.
Execute advanced red and purple team operations, emulating sophisticated threat actors across our extensive cloud infrastructure, endpoint fleets, and bare metal deployments.
Conduct deep penetration testing on critical systems, including tenant isolation mechanisms, bare metal GPU hosts, firmware, BMCs, and data center operational technology (OT).
Collaborate closely with security and engineering teams to identify and address novel AI-specific attack scenarios, including those targeting agentic systems and other emerging AI-enabled risks.
Contribute to the development of AI-assisted offensive testing tools and workflows, pushing the boundaries of automated adversary simulation.
Translate complex technical findings into clear, actionable risk assessments for technical and executive audiences, directly influencing our security roadmap and strategic decisions.
Stay at the forefront of AI-enabled offensive operations, constantly researching and integrating new techniques both within and outside our environments.

What We're Looking For: A Builder and a Breaker
We're seeking exceptional talent who can meet these challenges head-on. If you don't fit this role exactly, we encourage you to tell us where you would contribute.

Proven hands-on experience (years) in red teaming and complex offensive security operations.
Deep technical expertise in at least two of the following domains: macOS, Linux, major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure), Kubernetes, or CI/CD pipelines.
A track record of discovering novel attack paths and chaining vulnerabilities to achieve full system compromise.
Experience in successfully executing adversary simulations against well-defended, mature environments.
Proficiency in writing high-quality code in Python, Go, or similar scripting/programming languages for offensive tooling and automation.
Ability to craft compelling security findings that drive remediation and enable teams to prioritize risk effectively.
Demonstrated experience collaborating closely with blue teams to enhance defensive capabilities.
Bonus Points For:

Experience with state-nexus threat models (e.g., frontier AI, government, critical infrastructure).
Prior work in testing AI and Machine Learning systems (e.g., agentic workflows, model serving).
Defensive experience (e.g., detection engineering, SIEM management, EDR operations).
Familiarity with hardware and data center attacks (e.g., firmware exploitation, BMC vulnerabilities, OT/ICS security).
A strong interest in AI safety and security research.

We are committed to pay equity and transparency.
