The Opportunity: Security Operations Enginee
Delinea’s Cybersecurity organization is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Security Operations Engineer to join our global team. In this pivotal hybrid role, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and automating advanced security capabilities within our distributed security operations environment. Location & Schedule:
This is a hybrid role based in Mexico City, Mexico. You will report to the Senior Security Operations Manager, working 9 AM - 6 PM Central Standard Time.
What You’ll Do:
Engineer & Optimize Security Platforms: Drive the engineering and maintenance of Delinea's core security operations platforms, developing sophisticated detection rules, automated playbooks, and critical integrations to ensure rapid identification and response to security events.
Architect & Implement Capabilities: Architect and implement cutting-edge security engineering capabilities across key domains, including endpoint security, data loss prevention (DLP), email security, network security, SIEM enhancements, advanced detection engineering, and comprehensive security automation.
Embed Security Controls: Collaborate strategically with cross-functional teams to seamlessly embed robust security controls into critical business processes, fostering a security-first culture.
Innovate & Operationalize: Research, evaluate, and operationalize new security products and services, building proof-of-concept integrations and spearheading their adoption across Delinea’s expansive security stack.
What You’ll Need:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
3+ years of hands-on experience in a dedicated security engineering or security operations role.
Demonstrated enterprise-level working experience with one or more of the following critical security domains:
Security Information and Event Management (SIEM)
Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR)
Network Detection and Response (NDR)
Vulnerability Management
Threat Intelligence
Security Awareness platforms
Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
Firewalls
Email Security
Proficiency in scripting and automation languages (Python, PowerShell, or Bash) for developing custom security tools and automating repetitive, labor-intensive tasks.
Proficient in spoken and written English.
We’d Love to See (Bonus Skills):
Relevant security and/or technical industry certifications (e.g., ISC2, GIAC, EC-Council, ISACA, CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft).
Experience with digital forensics, privileged access management (PAM), and penetration testing tools.
Proven experience in developing engaging security awareness activities, robust security procedures, and comprehensive security engineering documentation.
Experience working within common regulatory and statutory compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, SOC2, ISO 27001, NIST).
Hands-on experience with cloud security platforms and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar).
