About the Role: Security Engineer - Be the Architect of Our Fortress

We're seeking a highly motivated and hands-on IT Engineer, Security to play a pivotal role in building our cybersecurity program from the ground up. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, IT Engineering, you'll be responsible for the technical deployment and operationalization of our core security infrastructure and processes. This is your chance to make a real impact, shaping our security landscape in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Your Mission:
Fortify Our Defenses: Core Security Technology Implementation

Lead the technical deployment, configuration, and integration of security systems and processes (e.g., patch management, MFA).
Establish initial alerting, reporting, and dashboarding within security platforms for immediate operational visibility.

First Responder: Initial Security Operations

Own and execute the Security Incident Response Process, serving as the primary technical responder for security alerts.
Conduct initial analysis, containment, and log correlation to mitigate threats.
Develop and maintain clear standard operating procedures (SOPs) and runbooks for newly implemented security systems.

Harden the Core: Infrastructure and Cloud Security

Collaborate with the IT Engineering team to implement baseline security configurations and hardening standards across endpoints (Windows, macOS, Linux).
Secure our cloud platforms (GCP and/or Azure) using industry best practices.

Document and Support: Knowledge is Power

Create and maintain detailed system documentation, architecture diagrams, and configuration guides for all security tools.
Provide expert guidance to the IT Engineering team on integrating security controls into network and system architecture.

What You'll Bring to the Table:
Battle-Tested Experience (4+ Years): 4+ years of hands-on experience in IT security engineering or operations, with a proven track record of delivering tangible security improvements.
Tool Master: Deep technical expertise in the installation, management, and troubleshooting of IT applications and security-related configurations.
Infrastructure Integration Guru: A strong background in supporting security within IT infrastructure, including:
Network Security fundamentals.
Security configurations for Windows, macOS, and Linux.
Familiarity with foundational security controls in GCP and/or Azure.

Operational Excellence: Proven ability to quickly learn new tools, follow detailed implementation plans, and execute incident response steps methodically.
Team Player: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work seamlessly with the broader IT Engineering team.

Bonus Points:
Experience in mid-sized, high-growth tech companies.
Security certifications like CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CEH, or OSCP.
Familiarity with compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, GDPR, ISO 27001, HIPAA).
Experience managing vendor relationships and procuring cybersecurity tools.
Knowledge of data visualization tools for security analytics (e.g., Looker, Splunk dashboards, Elastic).
