We're looking for a passionate and skilled Senior Security Engineer to join our Amsterdam-based team and fortify our Security Detection and Response (SDR) capabilities.
Your Mission:
As a key member of our Security team, you'll be the driving force behind enhancing Bitvavo's security posture. You will be responsible for:
Spearheading Detection Engineering: Design, implement, and fine-tune cutting-edge detection logic within our security monitoring platforms to proactively identify and neutralise emerging threats.
Leading Incident Response: Take the helm in managing end-to-end responses to critical security incidents, from initial triage and containment to post-incident analysis and lessons learned.
Strengthening Data Security: Develop and enforce robust data protection policies and processes to safeguard sensitive information against unauthorised access and exfiltration attempts.
Fortifying Network and Web Security: Oversee and continuously improve the security controls protecting our network and web traffic, ensuring a resilient and secure environment.
Empowering Security Operations: Manage the configuration, maintenance, and optimisation of core security technologies, ensuring seamless monitoring and rapid response capabilities.
Driving Automation & Integration: Streamline security workflows through automation and seamless integration of security tools, significantly improving operational efficiency and response times.
Ensuring Compliance & Reporting: Guarantee alignment with internal security policies and relevant regulatory standards, generating insightful reports and actionable intelligence.
What You Bring to the Table:
We're looking for a seasoned cybersecurity professional with a passion for protecting digital assets. The ideal candidate will possess:
Extensive Experience: 8+ years of hands-on experience in detection engineering, incident response, or cybersecurity operations.
Deep Technical Knowledge: A strong understanding of network, endpoint, and cloud security principles and practices.
Proven Expertise: Demonstrated success in detection rule development, incident handling, and data protection strategies.
Automation Skills: Proficiency in automation, scripting, or integration using languages such as Python or PowerShell.
Certifications (Bonus): Relevant certifications such as GCIA, GCIH, or CISSP are a plus.
Exceptional Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to mentor and guide team members.
