As a Security Analyst I at Bestow, you'll be a key player in protecting our customers and company data, ensuring we meet compliance standards, manage risk effectively, and implement security best practices across the organization.
This role reports to the Deputy Chief Information Security Officer (Deputy CISO) and offers the flexibility of a hybrid work model from our Dallas, TX headquarters (minimum 1 day/wk in office). Remote work within the contiguous 48 states is also considered.
Your Mission:
Security & Compliance Support: Gather and manage security artifacts and evidence for audits to ensure we meet company and regulatory objectives. Become an expert in our compliance posture.
Security Control Interpretation & Application: Research and interpret security control requirements, translating complex standards into actionable guidance for business partners.
Security Strategy Advisor: Collaborate with teams across the company (IT, Legal, Finance, Insurance Operations) to align security strategies with overall company goals, ensuring security is a business enabler.
Access Review Management: Oversee quarterly access audits, ensuring timely completion and adherence to security policies.
Security Event Monitoring & Response: Assist with incident response by tracking security alerts, collaborating with IT to resolve issues, and keeping leadership informed of potential threats.
Governance & Compliance Contribution: Help develop security policies, guidelines, and process documentation to support audits and compliance initiatives, building a strong foundation for our security program.
Security Tool & Process Implementation: Support the Deputy CISO and senior security staff in the selection, implementation, and optimization of security tools and processes.
What You'll Bring to the Table:
Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity or a related field, or 1-2 years of experience in Information Security, with a focus on governance, risk, or compliance. Equivalent experience will be considered.
Security certifications (Security+, CC (ISC2) or similar) are highly desirable.
Familiarity with cybersecurity tools, concepts, and frameworks (e.g., NIST, SOC2, ISO 27001).
Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to following through on tasks assigned by senior security staff.
Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills – you can effectively communicate complex security concepts to diverse audiences.
Bonus points for experience with audits, risk assessments, and evidence collection, particularly in the life insurance, financial, or government services industries.
Candidates with prior experience with SOC2 audits will be given priority consideration.
